Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the ChoreHustle mobile application (the “Application”) developed by J. O. Apps (the “Service Provider”). The Application is provided on an “AS IS” basis.

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects only the information necessary to provide its core functionality. This includes:

- Basic account information from Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple (your name and email address as provided by that account), used to create your profile and sign you in. The Application never sees or stores your Google or Apple account password.
- Household and chore data you provide: your household's name, your display name, the chores you create (including titles, due dates, and recurrence), completion records, and — depending on the tracking mode your household chooses — points or XP earned.
- Crash and diagnostic information collected automatically if the Application crashes, via Firebase Crashlytics (device model, operating system version, app version, and the crash's stack trace). This is used only to find and fix bugs.

The Application does not access your device's location, camera, microphone, or contacts, and does not use any advertising or analytics SDKs.

How Households and Kids' Accounts Work

The Application is designed for a parent or guardian to set it up. A parent creates a household first, then invites each child by sharing a one-time invite code that the child enters when they sign in — a child cannot create or join a household on their own without that code. Each family member signs in with their own existing Google or Apple account; the Application does not create new account credentials for anyone or collect a password from any user, child or adult.

Third-Party Services

The Application uses the following third-party services to operate:

- Supabase, which hosts the Application's database, authentication, and real-time syncing. Household and chore data described above is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Access to that data is restricted so that a household's data is only ever visible to members of that household.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple, used to authenticate you. These are subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/), respectively.
- Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service), used only to collect the crash diagnostics described above, subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

The Service Provider does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Retention Policy

Your household and chore data is retained for as long as your household exists in the Application. If you would like it deleted, contact the Service Provider at the email address below with your household name and one of the following:

- Delete my household data only — your household's chores, completions, and progress are removed from the backend, but your sign-in stays active in case you want to start a new household later.
- Delete everything — your household data and your account are both removed entirely; you would need to create a new account to use the Application again.

Either request will be honored within a reasonable time.

Opt-Out Rights

You can sign out of the Application at any time from Settings. You can also revoke the Application's access to your Google or Apple account at any time from that account's own settings. To stop all collection of information by the Application, uninstall it from your device and contact the Service Provider to request deletion of any data already stored.

Security

The Service Provider relies on industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections between the Application and its backend, and database access rules that restrict a household's data to that household's own members. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and the Service Provider cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Application is a family application intended to be used by children under the direction and consent of a parent or guardian. A child's participation always begins with a parent or guardian creating the household and explicitly inviting that child — this is how the Application obtains a parent's consent before a child's account is created. The information collected for a child's account is limited to what's described above: the basic profile information from the Google or Apple account they sign in with, their display name, and their chore and points/XP activity within their own household. The Application does not serve advertising to anyone, does not knowingly collect more information from a child than is necessary for these features, and does not sell or share a child's personal information with third parties.

A parent or guardian may review, or request deletion of, their child's information at any time by contacting the Service Provider at the email address below.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

Effective Date: September 10, 2026

Your Consent

By using the Application, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
